Building codes and standards form the backbone of interior design. Get immediate and up-to -date access to them with Techstreet. This website lets you search, access, and save codes from any computer with an Internet connection. It will even notify you when one of your saved codes has been updated!
There are two ways to find codes using Techstreet, browse and search.
Since the Library only subscribes to select publications featured in Techstreet, browsing may be easier than searching. Just click on the “View All Products” link on the left of the screen. This will take you to a list of all the publications we receive with our subscription. If you know the publisher of the code book you need, use the “Browse By Publisher” link.
You can also search for publications. Just click in the “Search” box across the top. Techstreet does not search within the text of the code books, rather it searches for the books themselves. So if you are searching for “Interior Finishes” codes in the latest edition of “International Building Code,” search for “International Building Code” not “Interior Finishes.”
Your results list will provide you with basic information about each publication. To view a publication just click on the “Read” button. This will open a PDF. Make sure your Adobe Acrobat software is updated!
FYI: If you right click (or CTRL + click on a Mac) on the “Read” button you can download the document to your computer. Just select “Save Target As…” from the menu.
If you’d like to view publications later you can add them to a List. A list acts just like a folder on your computer. When you first login, just click on the link to access your list.
